Q: What is The NYC Sketch Festival
A: The New York City Sketch Festival was created to not only celebrate the NYC sketch comedy community, but also foster a link between writers and performers from all over the world. We invite all sketch comedy groups to take part in the vibrancy and excitement that only NYC can offer.
Q: Where will the festival be held?
A: The entire festival will take place in both performance spaces at The Peoples Improv Theater. 123 East 24th Street NY, NY 10010 – 212.563.7488.
Q: What kinds of groups/shows are you looking for?
A: We are looking for the best, most original comedy from NYC, The USA and the Globe. If your group is pushing the boundaries of what we think sketch comedy is, submit. If you’re an experienced group who has done shows for years, submit. We’re looking for people who can bring all kinds of funny to the stage.
Q: Who is The PIT?
A: We’ve been around for over 10 years – check us out HERE.
Q: Why do you have a $25 submission fee?
A: This helps offset the cost of the festival. We have done our best to keep it as low as possible – and to cover the cost of your team getting into all the shows for FREE (unless the show is sold out). This fee is non-refundable.
Q: How do I get involved?
A: We have many ways for everyone to be involved. Groups can submit a show, audiences can come see shows and if you would like to volunteer your time to help the festival run smoothly – you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: What is the submission deadline?
A: The submission deadline is August 16th, 2013.
Q: If I submit my team – are we guaranteed entry to the festival?
A: Each submission will be checked by multiple members of our selection committee – and we are going to take as many groups as we can – however not all groups will be granted entry to the festival.
Q: Still have more questions?
A: Great – Send them to email@example.com.
