Event Producer, Toby Knops announced today that IFC will become the Exclusive Featured TV Sponsor of the NYC Sketch Festival.
“I am incredibly excited to announce this partnership, as any lover of comedy and in particular sketch comedy will tell you, IFC is home to some of the best there is,” Knops said. “to have them as a partner for this Festival will help to raise the exposure of our festival as well as to promote the great comedy programming they provide. Including Comedy Bang! Bang!, and the upcoming sketch comedy show The Birthday Boys, premiering Friday, October 18th.”
This year’s New York City Sketch Festival marks the second year for the festival, and the first year with event sponsorship. The 2013 Sketch Festival will last four days, with both Saturday and Sunday presenting over ten hours of sketch comedy. Last year the Festival welcomed 62 participating teams from all over the US and Canada. As well as over two thousand attendees over its four days.
The New York City Sketch Festival is becoming the premier comedy event for sketch comedy enthusiasts. Taking place at the Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT), where for over 10 years, comedians have learned from a talented staff of teachers who have had experience writing or producing for The Colbert Report, SNL, The State, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon as well as many others. The PIT has become NYC’s destination for high quality performances, classes and workshops.
The line up for this years festival will be announced after submissions close on August 16.
